A Colorful FREEBIE!

Could it really be?  Is it really July 30th?  Where did the summer go?  I have been busy getting my classroom ready and I plan on doing a big reveal soon - maybe even a Periscope appearance?....

But until then, I thought I would share a few of the things I've been working on.  The first is a FREEBIE!  Years ago I bought a super cute set of color word paint cans that I loved.  However, they have seen better days.  This year I decided I wanted something cute, but a lot simpler.  I've already hung these color posters in my classroom and let me tell ya, they are ADORABLE!  If you want a copy, just click on the red poster below!  I hope you enjoy them!

I've also been hard at work thinking about student goals.  There is a big push right now regarding student goals and I wanted a fun and kid-friendly way to do this with my Kinders.  This pack includes 5 different target standards for Kinders including:

Writing First and Last Name
Identifying Upper and Lowercase Letters
Reading Word Wall Words
Counting to 100
Personal Goal

You can use these forms to set personal and attainable goals for each standard during each quarter.  Giving children power over their goals is SO POWERFUL.  In the past, I have worked with students to set small goals regarding word wall words.  When a student sets the goal and is actively involved in achieving it, it is such a joy to watch!

I have plans to add more standards as I finish them - including letter sounds/decodable words and evaluating early writing skills.  I will hopefully get those finished soon!  In the meantime, this product is going to be 50% until tomorrow night!  Snag it while it's hot by clicking on the picture below!  :)

I guess it's back to work for me now.  Although I can't really complain.  My current view is a Starbucks cafe and Friends on Netflix as I work the afternoon away.  :)

Until next time!

Five for Friday - Summer Style

Happy Saturday y'all!  What is it about the weekend?  Even during the summer, the weekend holds so much promise for fun and relaxation, and time to get things done!  Since I've had a productive week, I'm cutting myself some slack this weekend and making time for just enjoying!  My girls and I had a yummy breakfast with my family this morning and are hitting up a pool party/birthday party this afternoon!  Ahhhh!  Summer!  I hope you all are taking time to relax as well!  Here's a glimpse at what's been going on!

Since school will be here before we know it, I decided to jump back into it.  I have a little window in between my room being waxed and our hallway being waxed where I can get in and get started.  I started the process this past week and set up my classroom.  I am super excited!  Here are some pictures of my classroom library.  I am loving this new rug from Lowe's and my new red and white striped canvas bin from Target - it holds my Seuss themed reading buddies for my Kinders to cuddle with.

I also bought (and assembled!) this new cart from Target to hold my extra classroom supplies.  The plastic drawer shelf I previously had wasn't cutting it and I like how this is on wheels and can be moved pretty easy!  Yay!

Speaking of classroom set up, I'm thinking of doing a Periscope segment on it.  Are you all on Periscope?  What do you think of it?  I'm currently having a love/hate relationship with it.  I mean, I LOVE watching other bloggers.  It's exciting to see their personalities come through and get to 'meet' them - especially since I wasn't able to go to Vegas!  On the other hand, there is always the fear of failing.  What if I look like an idiot?  What if no one really wants to hear what I have to say?  Do I have anything worthwhile to discuss?

I just watched a scope with Ashley Schroeder from Schroeder's Shenanigan's.  She encouraged bloggers to scope about what they are PASSIONATE about.  People want to get excited about what you are excited about!  She is really passionate about this new platform for teachers to be able to connect and, honestly, I think this could change the way we collaborate!

I'm really thinking about giving it a try - despite my fear of being a complete moron - however....I'm a little camera shy...I don't even really like selfies!  EEEEK!  I am a mentor to one of our new kindergarten teachers this year and I've been helping her set up her classroom.  I LOVE helping other teachers organize and set up their room, so I thought this might be something good to scope about?  Thoughts?

My sister is one of the closest people I have in my life.  We've had a lot of fun so far this summer spending extra time together.  So when she left me for a week to go on vacation I was totally lost!  Of course, we talked everyday but I missed that crazy girl!  While she was away, she got me this sweet shirt.  How thoughtful is she?  I've been reminded multiple times this week of the blessings I have and that God has a plan for me!

These girls!!!!!  Speaking of blessed am I by these two?  They may make me crazy, but they make my heart full.  Love my mini-me's!

So I have a super big surprise in store for everyone!  I've been working this summer on envisioning what I want my blog/business to look like.  Where I want it to go.  What I want it to say about me.  Big changes are coming and I can't be more excited! I can't give you any more details now, but hopefully soon!  Cheers!

TPT Seller Challenge: Week 3!

Happy Wednesday Friends!  I hope your summer is fabulous and everyone is getting some rest!  Between summer school and my girls, summer has been exhausting!  Fun yes, but exhausting!  I have been spending some 'me' time this week, shopping and hanging out with friends and enjoying some time with my family.  It has really helped me decompress and recharge my batteries!  Which means I was ready to tackle a big job today!

The Week 3 TPT Seller's Challenge has been looming on my TO DO list for a while now.  The challenge was to create a new product (free or paid) for your store.  I knew right away what I wanted to work on.  My Write the Room centers!  I worked hard during the school year to create monthly Write the Room centers that were differentiated and could be used for a longer period of time and for a variety of learners.  However, there were times life simply got in the way and it didn't get done!  I missed a month or two here and there.  Well no more!  I finished up every month and then bundled them into one large product!  I am so excited!

I absolutely love these Write the Rooms!  It's such a great way to get students UP AND MOVING!!! The goal with this write the room product is to provide you and your students with a fun and purposeful activity that could last for a longer period of time while still keeping kids engaged. Simply hang up one set of cards at the beginning of the month and print the recording sheets of your choice. I have provided a number of different recording sheets for you to choose from. These sheets are in varying levels of difficulty and you can use them a variety of ways. (1) Provide children with all of them and let them choose which sheet(s) to complete. (2) Choose 2 or 3 sheets for each week during the month for children to complete. (3) Assign children a specific page(s) to complete.

For a closer look at the BUNDLE just click on the picture below!

To celebrate marking this big project off of my TO DO list, I am putting it on SALE until Friday at midnight!

AND I'm putting my individual month sets on sale until then too!  To check out my newest ones, click on the pictures below!

Whew!  Now, onto that laundry I didn't do today....

Have a good night friends!

July Currently

Happy Fourth of July everyone!  I just wrapped up my first official week of summer and I am pooped! The girls and I spent the week enjoying each other and doing summer things including picnics, park time, trips to the zoo and the water park - which explains why I am FINALLY getting my July Currently posted!  Here's what is going on!

Listening - Spending nap time catching up on one of my summer guilty pleasures "Big Brother!"  Too early to pick a favorite yet but I'm excited for the season!

Loving - My new hair!  I have NEVER dyed or highlighted my hair so this summer I went for it!  A new, lighter do!  I'm in love!

I'm also lovin' my new Converse!  Pink is my color I think!  These puppies were on sale, plus a coupon code and Kohl's cash, which means CHEAP!!!!  Super excited about that!  And , honestly, my goal is to have a pair in every color.  It's good to have goals, right?  :)

Thinking - About good conversations with good friends....I spent last night at the STL Cardinal's game with my amazing friend Hayley.  We haven't seen each other in a while so we had A LOT to catch up on.  Good conversations are the ones that make you think...Well our conversation was one of the best!

Wanting - A NAP!  Single momma.  A sick two year old and clingy five year old....enough said right?  I could really use a comfy pillow, hammock and a cool breeze right now...

Needmg -my house to sell!  I am so not good at the limbo/waiting game and I would really like to move on to the next chapter of our lives!

All Star (what are you good at) - Hmmmmm even though there are days I feel like I'm totally failing...I would say being a momma!  Look at these sweet faces from the week!  I love being their momma!

Hope everyone enjoys the rest of their fourth!  I'll be posting the next challenge in the TPT Summer Challenge - a new product - in the few days! Stay tuned!
